Pakyong, 13 February (IPR): In view of the ensuing general elections in 2024, additional Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were shifted from the District Administrative Centre (DAC) Gangtok warehouse to the strong room located at Dikling Senior Secondary School, Pakyong, today.
To conduct a fair and smooth polling day process, 65 Control Units (CUs) have been shifted and will be kept in reserve. This measure has been taken to fill up the gap of reserve machines that were found non-functional during the commissioning between from April 5th to April 8th.
The first level checking, randomisation and commissioning of the machines will be conducted on April 14, 2024, followed by a mock poll to ensure that the machines are efficient and ready to be use.
