Gangtok, April 14 (IPR): The first day of the second phase of Home Voting concluded with two votes cast today. 

Home Voting in the Gangtok District was conducted in 16-Tumen-Lingi and 25-Upper Tadong. Two votes were cast in 25-Upper Tadong, while 16-Tumen-Lingi had no votes. 

The Home Voting System is a new feature introduced by the Election Commission of India (ECI), allowing senior citizens aged (85+) and persons with disabilities (benchmark 40% disability) to vote from the comfort of their homes.

The second phase of the Home Voting process, which began today, will continue until April 16. During this period, home voters who were unable to vote in the first phase will be given a second chance to exercise their voting rights.
